The Lync.exe process not terminating has been a common issue, and one which in the past we’ve had to solve by checking for and then killing the process. UISuppressionMode is used when replacing the Lync Client with full-screen applications which provide a immersive experience. If this is what I think it is, it’s a welcome fix for a common problem.
When the Lync client is used by a 3rd party application as an out-of-proc COM server showing no Lync UI (“UI suppression mode”), the Lync process does not exit after the app is closed.
